Term: Bass Management

Bass management provides low bass, via a subwoofer, that the main speaker may not be capable of. The subwoofer(s) and main speaker(s) combine to form a full-range playback system. Bass management is controlled via a crossover, which may be part of the monitor controller, amplifier, or integrated into the subwoofer.
