Term: Sealed Enclosure Speaker

Sealed enclosures have speakers mounted in an opening of a sealed box, but provide no port or vent for sound pressure to escape the box. The movement of a woofer is controlled by the volume of air inside the cabinet, which acts like a spring. Sealed enclosures provide excellent transient response, but lower efficiency and less bass output than ported cabinets.
