Frequently asked questions

How does it work?

Apply your SoundID calibration profiles directly into UAD Console to run on the hardware Apollo X DSP. UAD Console will connect to SoundID Reference via a direct API connection, eliminating unnecessary complexity and allowing seamless integration of your calibration profiles directly into Apollo X interfaces with a single-click.

Once the calibration is running directly on Apollo X, you can quit the SoundID Reference standalone app and/or DAW plug-in—you’ll only need to return to the app to apply additional profiles to realtime Apollo Monitor Correction.

The integration is supported on both Apollo X Gen 1 and Gen 2 devices. Here’s the full list of supported devices:

Will it work with a subwoofer and multichannel?

Yes, for the regular SoundID Reference for Speakers and Headphones license (stereo) the integration will support both 2.0 and 2.1 solutions.

You can either run 2.0 stereo setup with a subwoofer (L-R routed through the sub using it’s internal crossover), or you can run it in 2.1 with the sub on a separate channel.

With the SoundID Reference for Multichannel license, you can apply correction profiles from 2.1 to immersive 9.1.6.

What kind of profiles can I apply to Apollo X?

The integration supports all calibration profiles, and the availability depends on your SoundID Reference license:

→ SoundID Reference for Headphones: apply headphone profiles
→ SoundID Reference for Speakers and Headphones: apply headphone profiles, and stereo speaker profiles
→ SoundID Reference for Multichannel: apply headphone profiles, stereo speaker profiles, and multichannel speaker profiles

Can I run multiple outputs at the same time with calibration?

Yes, the integrated solution supports one speaker profile (stereo or multichannel) and up to two headphone profiles running at the same time (Apollo X desktop = 1 headphone profile, Apollo X rackmount = 2 headphone profiles).

Can I use it if I have Reference 4?

The integration is only available with the latest version of SoundID Reference, so an upgrade is required.

There is an upgrade bundle option available with the Apollo Monitor Correction Add-on included, see upgrade options for Reference 4 here.

Do I have to buy something?

Yes, to unlock the integration, you will need the Apollo Monitor Correction Add-on, available for 79 EUR/USD in Sonarworks Store and through third-party sellers.

Bundle deals including the SoundID Reference base license and the AMC add-on will also be available. If you buy Apollo Monitor Correction Add-on in a bundle deal with SoundID Reference, the add-on costs 50 EUR/USD.
